THE HOLE ::: ::: ::: IL BUCO

In my twenties, as my family disintegrated, I disappeared into the wind. ::: ::: ::: Da ventenne, mentre la mia famiglia disintegrava, io spariva nel vento.

I began to use my grandmother’s saying to describe the cyclical abuse I’d discovered had been handed down generation after generation like a precious heirloom carefully wrapped in scar tissue and silence. ::: ::: ::: Iniziò ad utilizzare il detto della mia nonna in riferimento al abuso ciclico che avevo scoperto è stato tramandato da generazione a generazione, come un prezioso lascito attentamente avvolto in velina di cicatrice e silenzio.

A legacy that left a trail of empty spaces where something used to be. A silence I did not want to bare, a chain I did not know how to break. ::: ::: ::: Un lascito che lasciava una scia di spazzi vuoti dove una volta c’era qualcosa. Un silenzio che non volevo portare, una catena che non sapevo come rompere. 

It was a crazy wind, from a crazy hole. And all I could do was run. ::: ::: ::: Era un vento pazzo, da un buco pazzo. Ed correre era tutto quello que potrà fare.

But no matter how far I went, I was apart of it. It was a part of me. ::: ::: ::: Nonostante non importava quanto lontano arrivavo, ero parte di essa. Essa era parte di me.
